New Girl star Zooey Deschanel has revealed she once thought her Property Brothers‘ fiancé Jonathan Scott ‘ghosted her’ when they first started dating.
The pair made the admission during a candid chat with People magazine, saying they speak every day, but one time they didn’t communicate for three days.
“We talked or texted every single day, I think, and still have every day since we’ve met, except for the [time] I went up on a packed trip up into the middle of the Rocky Mountains, where there was no cell service,” Scott explained.

“She thought I was just blowing her off because I didn’t respond for, what, three days or something?”
Deschanel replied: “Uh-huh.”
Deschanel also gave fans an insight into their relationship and said the pair are both ‘nerds’ who get along well.

“Our personalities are so compatible. It’s just that we’re from different worlds,” she explained.
In August, the pair announced their engagement after four years of dating.
The actress, 43, shared the happy news on her Instagram page and showed off her unique diamond ring.
“Forever starts now!!! 🥰♾️🥰,” Deschanel captioned her post, before receiving a number of well wishes from fans.

Scott, who has a real estate property show with his twin brother Drew Scott, presented Deschanel with an eye-catching purple diamond ring.
“Congratulations!!!” actress Leslie Mann commented underneath, alongside love heart emojis.
Mindy Kaling added: “Omg!!! So amazing Zooey! Congrats!”
According to People, Scott proposed on a family trip to Scotland and Deschanel’s two children, daughter Elsie, eight, and son Charlie, six, were there for the proposal.
The publication reports that Scott has Scottish heritage.
The smitten couple first met in August 2019 while filming an episode of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke.
At the time, she had secretly separated from her husband and father of her children, Jacob Pechenik.
Not long after the pair announced their split, she and Scott went public with their romance.
“After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners,” she and Pechenik said in a statement.
“We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”
Deschanel and Pechenik filed for divorce in October 2019 and it was finalised in June 2020.
She was previously married to Deathcab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, but the pair filed for divorce in 2012 after two years of marriage.
