Yashavi achieved the feat at the age of just 21 years and 279 days – breaking the previous Indian record set by Shubhman Gill

Earlier this year, Gill scored his maiden T20 international century at the age of 24 years and 146 days.

He smashed an unbeaten knock of 126 runs – the highest score by an Indian in the shortest format – against New Zealand.

Yashasvi’s stunning piece of record marks the start of India’s wonderful campaign in the Asian Games 2023

His 100-run opening stand helped the men in blue to win India’s first-ever match at the Asian  Games.

While opening, skipper Rituraj managed to get 25 quick runs, but was sent back to the dressing room by Airee’s spell.

The Indian top order soon collapsed swiftly after it was reduced to 3 down within just 18 balls.

However, Yashasvi rescued the team by getting the three-figure mark in just 49 deliveries.

Although he departed as well, his brilliant knock helped the Rituraj-led squad post a total of 202 runs on the scoreboard and win the match by 23 runs.

Yashasvi Yadav is India’s second left-handed batsman to score an international ton in the game’s shortest format, after legendary cricketer Suresh Raina.

Other Indian batters to achieve the feat are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Deepak Hooda.

India’s A team is now gearing up to take on its rivals in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, which starts on October 5.

The men in blue will play their first match against Australia at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
