Despite his stature, the American would share the ring with super heavyweights like Big Show, The Great Khali and The Undertaker, while he also made various Royal Rumble appearances.

The Wisconsin native stood out so much that he was even crowned Cruiserweight Champion in 2007.

However, all of that came with a price as Hornswoggle suffered a series of injuries along the way.

But the worst one took place in 2021 when he hurt his back so bad that he lost feeling.

The grappler needed surgery but struggled to find a surgeon as many were apprehensive due to his stature and injury history.

He insists he can still “bite an ass and do a stunner” but he can’t perform several other moves, such as his signature tadpole splash from the top rope.

Hornswoggle told the Oh You Didn’t Know podcast: “In 2021, I took a shot and needed back surgery.

“Everything went completely numb, dead. I was like, ‘okay, I should probably get this looked at.’

“No one wanted to do the surgery on me, because of my stature and my old surgeries.”

Hornswoggle joined WWE in 2006 when he linked up with Northern Irish legend Fit Finlay.

He also made some sporadic appearances following his departure from the wrestling promotion.

Hornswoggle appeared in the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 and the Royal Rumble in 2019.

Since then he has mostly been competing in the independent circuit but also linked up with Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor and AEW.
