According to the Daily Mail, the two clubs are “close” to an agreement on a transfer fee.

The report adds that the Red Dragons are optimistically Lindsay will join the club before the 11pm deadline.

Former Scottish youth international Lindsay is out of contract at Championship side Rotherham in the summer.

The midfielder joined the club from Ross County in 2019 and started his career with Celtic.

He has become a regular for the Millers in recent months, making 13 appearances this season and scoring once.

Lindsay would become Wrexham’s third deadline day signing following a double deal earlier on Thursday.

Striker Marriott has signed on an 18-month deal from Fleetwood after the club beat off interest from Oxford.

Meanwhile, Bolton penned a deal until 2026 after arriving from fellow League Two side Salford.

Wrexham are currently second in the table, five points adrift of league leaders Stockport with a game in hand.
