Workers forced to tarmac around car after dopey driver forgets to move their motor in time

A DOPEY driver who failed to move their car in time for road resurfacing work is shamed by a ring of yellow traffic cones.

Highway maintenance men decided to tarmac around the tiny pale blue Fiat hatchback — and then surround it with eight traffic markers.

Locals were left bemused by the humiliation of the motorist in Broadstairs, Kent.

One said: “The car stood out like a sore thumb.”

But another added: “They shouldn’t worry. The road will be dug up again as it’s been done so badly.”

Last week we revealed how council workmen lifted a car so they could paint double yellow lines under it.

Baffled James Dee returned to his car to find it was facing the opposite direction to which he parked it.

What’s worse, a council traffic warden swooped in and hit him with a £55 fine for parking illegally.

Furious James, 43, told The Sun: “I couldn’t believe it. Not only did the council move my car to paint the lines, they then had the cheek to slap on a parking ticket which I’m having to appeal.

“I’m absolutely fuming, I’m not paying a penny.”
