A WOMAN has revealed the clever trick she uses to keep her hotel key card safe while on holiday.
Staying in hotels can involve carrying several additional keys and cards, which people can often forget and lose.

But TikTok user Sarah Adekola, who is known as millennialwealthsarah on the social media platform, explained how she keeps her room card secure at all times.
A caption over the video read: “Travel tips I wish I knew sooner.”
She said: “Ditch your hotel key card and get a digital card on your phone.
“Hotels like Marriott and Hilton enable you to have a mobile key and you just need to put your phone up to the door and it will allow you access. How cool is this?”
In the footage, Sarah was stood in front of her hotel door where she held a key card up to the camera.
Instead of using the hotel key card to open the door, she downloaded the key to her phone.
She then proceeded to open the door by holding her phone up to the door handle.
While Sarah was excited by the mobile key card, other people were worried about the “safety” of their mobile key.
One person wrote: “I don’t think this is cool for safety reasons.”
In the comments, Sarah explained that every mobile was sent a unique code to make sure the digital keys were different for each room.
On their website, hotel chain Marriott explained that mobile keys are only available at select hotels where guests have opted for a mobile key before they’ve checked into their room.
And there are other ways that hotel guests can make sure they’re safe when they’re travelling.
Last year, a flight attendant revealed the mistake most travellers make whenever they check in to hotels.
In a video on Tiktok, flight attendant Jessica Aamot explained that guests should only ever take the card out with them, and never the cardboard key card holder.

The key card holder contains personal information, including guests’ names, the name of the hotel, and their room number, which is more than enough to give someone access to their room.
Anyone who lost their key while out and about would essentially be handing over all their information, leaving themselves at risk of having their room broken into.
Meanwhile, a Tiktok user showed the extreme lengths she goes to make sure no one breaks into her hotel room.
And this £1 household item could also help keep you safe in your hotel room.
