A WOMAN has revealed the hidden “fairytale village” that lies within a UK city.

Holly Village in London has been likened to something out of a folk tale or a work of fiction.

One of those is TikTok user Curious Pixie, who is known as thecuriouspixie on the social media platform, recently posted a video all about her visit to the “fairy tale” attraction.

In the video, she said: “Hidden away in London is a full-on Victorian gothic village that looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale.

“Created in 1865 by one of the wealthiest women of her day, Baroness Angela Burdett-Coutts, it is perhaps one of the first examples of a gated housing development.

“[Do you] fancy living in one? [The] average prices are around £1.8 million.”

The footage showed a large brick building with Gothic spires and an iron gate.

There were also cobbled alleyways and brick walls that were lined with colourful flowers and plants.

The video has already amassed 400,000 views with users rushing into the comments to share their excitement.

One person wrote: “I found this place by accident one snowy March, and I’m obsessed with it! Every detail about the place is amazing.”

A second said: “It reminds me of the house in Nanny McPhee.”

Someone else added: “This is why I love the UK and Europe, at one turn there’s a supermarket and then 10 minutes down the road is something like this.”

Despite all the excitement, the Holly Village isn’t open to the public.

In the comments, Curious Pixie explained that she was given access to the Holly Village by a local resident.

She said: “I got chatting to a resident when I was filming outside.

“They let me in, but I still stayed near the entrance to respect the privacy of the residents.”

Even though the housing area isn’t open to the public, holidaymakers will be able to view the buildings from the outside.

Holly Village is a 13-minute walk from Archway Station in North London.

A London Underground tube line runs through Archway Station, and there are direct services to London Euston and London Kings Cross.

Other nearby attractions include the bathing ponds in Hampstead Heath Park as well as viewing points like Parliament Hill.

The Holly Village isn’t the only “fairy tale” attraction in the UK.

Earlier this year, Fairytale Farm in Oxfordshire opened its very own Fairy Dell complete with giant mushrooms, toadstools, raised walkways, bridges, and crawl tunnels.

And here’s the “Fairytale” town you can get to by train from London in just a few short hours.
