Why does Geri Halliwell only wear white?

If you search for recent photos of former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, you’ll struggle to find anything where she isn’t wearing all white.

The farm? All white. The beach? All white. Movie premieres? You can guess the answer.

But while some might find it odd or at least incredibly risky – we shudder to think how that combo goes when Halliwell decides to enjoy a bowl of spaghetti – the singer sees no issue with it, apparently.

In fact, she’s been following the rule for years now.

On Monday, Ginger Spice, 51, stepped out in a chic all-white outfit at the premiere of Ferrari at London’s Leicester Square with husband Christian Horner, 50.

True to her style, Halliwell-Horner wore a white trouser suit, which she teamed with a colourful jewelled necklace and a bright red lip.

She broke up the white look with a beige clutch.

Ferrari, which is set to be released in Australia in January, stars Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and Patrick Dempsey and tells the story of Enzo Ferrari.

So why has Halliwell decided to burden herself with this very pretty, but difficult fashion choice?

Well, she says it makes her life easier.

She told Today with Hoda & Jenna in October: “I don’t know about you, but as you get older, you want to keep it simple.”

“And one thing I’ll say is everything matches. It’s just, like, fast, fast.”

She added: “You look at the men who are always wearing these same things — a uniform. Can’t I do the same? Why not?”

Speaking to The Sun in early 2021, Halliwell revealed that she now thinks of her clothes as “a uniform”.

“Everything becomes simple,” she said of her colour choice. “I like the colour, and it’s like wearing a school uniform as an adult. It matches everything and I don’t have to think in the mornings.

She adds: “It’s great for busy people. It kind of looks like you’ve made an effort when you haven’t.”

Ginger Spice reportedly adopted the dress rule in 2019, and hasn’t looked back.

It truly is rare to see her in anything but white or creamy tones, unless it’s for a runway event.

For those who are wondering what happens to Halliwell’s clothes when or if they get spoilt, well not to fear. As the second-richest Spice Girl (after Victoria Beckham), she definitely has plenty of money to purchase replacements.

Halliwell’s net worth is reported as US$40 million (approx. $56.1 million), while her former race car driver husband Christian Horner has a net worth of US$50 million (approx. $70.2 million).

Horner, who is now the Team Principal of the Red Bull Formula One team (aka the boss of the Formula One racing team), and Halliwell married in 2015, in a sweet ceremony in the East England town of Bedfordshire.

The pair now share a six-year-old son, Montague, and have two children from previous relationships. Halliwell shares 17-year-old daughter Bluebell with her ex, Sacha Gervasi. Meanwhile, Horner shares his ten-year-old daughter Olivia with ex Beverley Allen.
