A lasting bond. Meghan Markle’s friend Lindsay Roth is among the members of her and Prince Harry’s inner circle who appeared on their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
“I often get asked what Meg and H are like. Here’s your chance to hear their story from them! Watch Harry & Meghan on @Netflix,” Roth wrote via Instagram in December 2022 alongside several behind-the-scenes photos from her time on set.
The television producer — who has been friends with Markle since their university days — has previously spoken up on her pal’s behalf.
“Meg’s M.O. has always been kindness; goodwill runs in her bones. I know this to be true after 22 years of very close friendship. I have seen firsthand how she treats her friends and their families and her colleagues,” Roth captioned an Instagram photo of the Duchess of Sussex helping her apply lip gloss in March 2021 after the royal couple faced backlash for their tell-all CBS interview.
The loyal friend continued: “If she’s driving with you in the passenger seat, she will fling her right arm in front of you at the slightest bump in a gesture of love to ensure your safety. If you have a specific goal, she will help you get there, and your passions will become hers on your behalf. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting Meg — and I hope more of you do — you will see the altruistic, magnanimous friend who I am so lucky to have in my corner.”
Roth then called the Suits alum “laugh out loud funny and smart,” adding, “She’s more than just a cover story.”
Although the duchess’ friends have seen her life undergo immense changes since she met Harry in 2016, Roth has said that Markle’s character remained consistent.
“She was this woman when we were students together at Northwestern University; she was this woman in Los Angeles when her days were spent auditioning; she was this woman living in Toronto as Rachel Zane on Suits; she was this woman before you knew she was dating Harry; she was this woman after you knew [she] was dating Harry; she was this woman when she became Duchess of Sussex and she is still — without a doubt — this very same woman today,” she wrote.
In addition to staying true to herself, the “Archetypes” podcaster has shared some of the perks of royal life with her friends over the years. In July 2019, she attended the Wimbledon Champions with Roth and their mutual friend, Genevieve Hillis.
Roth previously supported Markle’s first Wimbledon appearance in July 2016. “When your bestie sits in @serenawilliams box … you smile, feel proud and think GO SERENA! (And that she looks gorgeous),” the What Pretty Girls Are Made Of author wrote via Instagram at the time.
