We explain which shops have shut their doors this year so far – and if any more will close too.

Which B&M stores are closing down?

B&M will shut four of its branches.

The B&M store in Maesglas Retail Park is set to close its doors to make way for the future demolition of the out of town shopping centre.

It shut just days after the retailer closed its Stockton store in the Castlegate Shopping Centre.

But the branch will be relocation to a bigger unit in Stockton town centre.

B&M will also be closing its existing Kilmarnock store in Queens Drive Retail Park on March 26.

Meanwhile, Bristol is losing its B&M shop in Broadwalk Shopping Centre in early April.

Are there any sales on?

B&M launched a massive 75% off closing down sale and there are some huge bargains.

Shoppers have spotted the sale as the discount retailer plans to shut a store in Newport, Wales.

Shoppers spotted a sale at the store with huge discounts and some items for as little as 10p.

One shopper on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group said: “Our local B&M is closing and had 75% off everything! The Christmas stuff was all 10p.

“Newport, South Wales (the one opposite TKMaxx) I went in looking for wallpaper but it was like walking into an empty shop – no wallpaper but lots of beds, shelves and other furniture. Mega chuffed!”

What other B&M stores have closed?

In November 2021, shoppers rushed to B&M’s branch in Rugby’s Clock Towers Shopping Centre to bag a bargain haul.

The shop was advertising 50% off everything as it tried to shift the last of its stock before closing for good.

One shopper took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to post about the items she got at rock bottom prices.

The shopper said she should have paid £234 for her haul, but instead, she paid £116 because of the clearance discounts.

It meant she got her Christmas shopping sorted for less.

It’s not the only store that closed that year.

One store in Glasgow saw even bigger discounts of up to 75% off in a big sale before it shut its doors for good.

Shoppers were spotted queuing outside the branch to rummage through the deals.

Are there other sales on at B&M?

B&M is known for its bargains and eagle-eyed shoppers are always spotting them.

Earlier this week, shoppers were rushing to buy a “stunning” velvet dining chair that was scanning at the till for just £10.

The original price was £70.

A savvy mum was amazed to find some adorable Easter baskets from B&M for just £7.

Earlier this month, the store was also selling an air fryer that is cheaper than the famous Ninja products.

Shoppers have been rushing out to B&M after the retailer started re-stocking its 4.5L family-size Blaupunkt air fryer.

The product is on sale for £49 and is around £80 cheaper than Ninja’s 3.7litre model.

B&M shoppers have also been rushing to buy a hot tub for £470 less than the original price.

The discount store was also selling the popular Lay-Z-Spa for just £30 and people can’t believe their eyes.

If you’re looking to shop in your local store for bargains, make sure you check ahead to see if there are any sales in stores.

You can find your nearest B&M using the retailer’s online store locator tool.

It’s not the first time that B&M has hosted the major discounts before closing down stores.

B&M slashed prices by as much as 75% before it shut up shop on Southgate Street in Gloucester in July last year.

There were similar discounts at a B&M store located in Rugby’s Clock Towers Shopping Centre when it closed in 2021.

How can I save money at B&M?

While a closing down sale offers big discounts on already bargain prices, there are still ways to save at B&Ms more than 600 stores that remain open.

The B&M barcode scanner app allows you to discover discounted items before the staff have even reduced them.

The scanner is located on the B&M Stores mobile app, which can be downloaded for free on your smartphone.

Shoppers can download it on the App Store or Google Play.

Once you’ve got the app, click on the “scan” button at the bottom of your homepage.

This will then bring up the camera on your smartphone, which you’ll need to use to scan barcodes.

When you’ve found a product you want to scan, simply point your smartphone camera toward its barcode.

The app will then automatically bring up the item’s price – this is when you’ll know if it is reduced or not.

Bargain hunters say some items come up as £1, 50p or even 10p through the app.

Shoppers should also keep an eye out for products with a white reduction sticker on.

This means they will have a certain amount slashed off the price shown on the label.

Shop for products at the end of the season.

Get friendly with staff too.

They’ll be able to tell you when the sales will hit, or if there are bargains out the back – so you get the best bits.
