Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer takes a spin in purple ‘dream car’ – just days after ‘ridiculous’ hacking storm

WHEELER Dealers has been spotted taking a spin in his bright purple “dream car” just days after he was hit by a “ridiculous” hacking storm.

The presenter posted a clip of the test ride to X as he sought to put the events of the past week behind him.

In the video, shot by his wife Michelle, Mike can be seen sitting in the driver’s seat of a purple Porsche GT3, with a neon-yellow seatbelt secured across his chest.

He described the outlandish sports car as his “dream car” and a “big purple flying machine.”

The star explained that he had been allowed to “take it for a spin” by its owner, Freddie, though pledged to stick to the speed limit.

Asked how fast the car could go, he joked: “30mph, because that’s the speed limit around here.

“But you can go to 30 as fast as you bloomin’ like.

“It does a lot of things, it’s a big purple flying machine.

“It’s like one of those purple potatoes you eat.

“Doesn’t it look amazing Michelle?”

Michelle then panned around the flash motor to show off its unsual paint job.

The car was decked out in deep purple, with a black interior broken up only by its eye-catching yellow seatbelts.

It also boasted glistening gold-coloured alloys, giving the motor a brilliant shine as it caught the sunlight.

However, before Mike had even set off he broke into a fit of sneezing, joking that he would have to call the drive off as he was “allergic to Porsche GT3s”.

Thankfully, he recovered and was able to set off and achieve his dream of driving one.

That must have come as a relief after the star faced a torrid week, with the Wheeler Dealers Facebook page targeted by “despicable” hackers.

Mike was left fuming after cybercriminals accessed the page and posted graphic images and offensive comments.

In a live video on his X page, he said: “I’m trying any which way I can to gain access, I’ve been kicked out and they’ve got complete control and they’re posting graphic images.

“They [the hackers] are foul disgusting despicable scumbags and I wish all the worst for them, for doing this.

“For people to come to a legitimate Facebook page built by fans over the years is despicable and I hate them and I hate the social media companies for allowing it.”

Where can I watch Wheeler Dealers?

Wheeler Dealers has now entered its 21st season, with the show as popular as ever.

The series sees Mike Brewer and Marc Priestley take on some of their most ambitious projects yet as they snap up old bangers and return them to their former glory.

In the UK, viewers can stream the full catalogue on Discovery +, while new episodes and reruns air regularly on the Discovery Channel and QUEST.

US fans can also use Discovery +, as well as the platform’s dedicated channel on Amazon Prime, available for an extra subscription fee.

And even the attempt to recover the page was fraught with danger, as Mike revealed he had been swamped by messages from potentially shady characters offering to get access to it for him.

He raged: “Unless you work for Facebook or Meta officially I ain’t going to talk to you.”

It comes after one of his most treasured cars was cruelly stolen just weeks ago.

The MkI Fiesta was lovingly restored for over £11,000 by Mike and Wheeler Dealers co-star Marc ‘Elvis’ Priestley, but vanished “in minutes”.

In February, Mike shared an agonizing update on the search for the stolen motor, which was pinched while he was filming the show.

The ride must have come as a relief just days after he addressed the ‘despicable’ hacking of the Wheeler Dealers Facebook pageTwitter
