WhatsApp fans overjoyed as huge update fixes one of app’s worst problems

WHATSAPP is working on a much-requested update for photo fans who accept nothing but the very best.

You may not realise that when you send a snap to someone on WhatsApp it’s actually compressed.

This means the quality isn’t as good as when you took it.

For most people, you don’t notice the difference.

But others can tell the quality isn’t as high.

This is especially important if you want to expand the size and print the photo for example.

However, it looks like WhatsApp is finally giving people what they want.

WABetaInfo has revealed an early screenshot of a new feature that allows you to send original quality photos instead.

A new setting icon in the drawing tool header will let you switch to the better standard.

For the moment the feature is still being tested by beta developers.

But it could turn up in a future release.

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m In” button and then click “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Joining the WhatsApp beta on iOS is more difficult, and has limited capacity.
