JUST when football fans thought they had time to digest an incredible World Cup – the Premier League returns.
Manchester City will be determined to get back to winning ways in England’s top flight division after they were beaten 2-1 by Brentford just before the break.

And it made Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Wolves even sweeter for the Gunners as it stretched their lead at Christmas to five points.
Manchester United and Tottenham were also able to grind out hard fought wins prior to the World Cup.
But Chelsea ended the first half of the season with a bitter taste in their mouth after losing to high-flying Newcastle.
