WEST HAM have held talks with Manchester United regarding the signings of Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, according to reports.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has begun adding to his squad in the summer window by acquiring Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay are being linked with moves to West HamPA
But he could also be looking to ship more players out the door, with David de Gea, Anthony Elanga, Alex Telles and Zidane Iqbal among those to have already departed.
Maguire, 30, is another who has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford – with Ten Hag stripping him of the captaincy as Tottenham and Aston Villa are mooted as potential destinations.
McTominay, 26, is also understood to be turning heads as Newcastle eye him up as a possible option.
But Sky Sports are now reporting that West Ham have held “initial talks” with Man Utd over signing both players.
David Moyes is keen to replace Declan Rice following his move to Arsenal – with McTominay capable of playing that role at the base of the midfield.
And the Irons are also looking to bolster the heart of their back line after shipping 55 goals last season.
West Ham are exploring the potential of a loan or permanent move for Maguire – who is under contract until 2025.
However, it is believed there is a “gap in valuations” for both players as Man Utd see Maguire and McTominay as highly valuable.

West Ham will have to stump up considerable cash if they are to complete the deals, particularly given Ten Hag is said to be “planning for both to be key members of the squad next season”.
As well as the Man Utd duo, the East London outfit are also being linked with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse is another name on West Ham’s radar.
