West Ham ‘have £36m transfer bid for Ajax star Mohammed Kudus rejected’ as boss Moyes tries to spend Declan Rice cash

WEST HAM have had a £36million bid for Mohammed Kudus rejected by Ajax, according to reports.

David Moyes is eager to bolster is attacking options by signing the exciting Ghanaian.

The Hammers first made an approach for Kudus last week, which was turned down by Ajax.

Technical director Tim Steidten then jetted to Amsterdam last Thursday for further talks.

West Ham returned with an improved £36m offer for Ajax’s star man.

But the Mail claim that the Dutch side have again denied the Hammers.

Kudus, 23, is under contract in Amsterdam until 2025.

Ajax attempted to add another year onto his deal in April, but were turned down.

The attacker has been linked with a host of Premier League moves.

Manchester United have been mentioned as a possible suitor in the past.

While Brighton were believed to be close to agreeing a deal earlier this summer, only for it to fall through.

Kudus scored 18 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions last season, while also laying on seven assists.

He has a further goal and an assist in his opening two appearances in this campaign.

West Ham are trying to bolster their squad following the £105m departure of Declan Rice earlier this summer.

Moyes’ side have signed Kudus’ former Ajax team-mate Edson Alvarez, as well as James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos from Southampton and Stuttgart respectively.

They are also seeking a replacement for striker Gianluca Scamacca, with Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri high on their wishlist.
