A WOMAN who has embraced van life could save almost £1,000 a year following a pro tip.

She broke down the various costs in a short clip called: “How much does it cost for me to live in my van?”

The opening sequence is a shot of the van along with a scenic view of where she is currently camped in Scotland.

As the footage cuts back to the van, the caption reads: “Petrol £120 for 500 miles.”

Which then changes to: “Water £ free at campsites”.

In turn this then reads: “Campsites £80 a month”.

As the camera then pans round the caption says: “Electricity £ free from solar panel and campsite hookup.”

The pinned clip has proved to be a big hit, notching up more than 94,000 views along with nearly 1,800 likes and close to 100 comments.

Many commentators were suitably impressed.

One said: “I salute you… I think so many more people will go down this road.”

Another wrote: “What a life.”

A third added: “Well done! All the very best for the future.”

One commentator though suggested a way she could make a big saving of £960.

They wrote: “I’d never use campsites. I’d just road camp. Save myself £960 a year.”

Another also questioned if she was being accurate and suggested there were other costs involved such as maintenance of the van, MOT and electricity was they said cost between £12-15 per day at most sites.

The TikToker responded she had solar panels and also had a battery which was off grid but added she was going to make another video about this.

Elsewhere, a 40-year-old woman has fully embraced van life and is happy living in the woods with just her pets.

Another lady revealed she lives in a van and absolutely loves it because she can travel and save money.

Another girl who had her annual leave request denied, decided to quit her job and bought a £25,000 campervan to travel the world in.

Plus, Alyssa Jo, known as the solo travel gal on social media, also hopped on the trend.

She showed fellow travellers how to stay warm in their camper vans this winter with useful budget friendly hacks.
