Having up-to-date software on your devices, be it a smartphone, PC or gaming console, means they can better ‘talk’ with your Wi-Fi router.

“Make sure that your devices are running the latest software/firmware,” experts at YugaTech advised.

“Outdated software and drivers can prevent your devices from connecting to the internet at their optimal speeds.”

This also accounts for the router itself.

While this is an often overlooked task, updating your router firmware can help improve connectivity.

It can also keep your router secure from hackers.

It is always recommended to install the latest available updates to keep your network safe and efficient.

Most routers have a built-in update checker, which may perform the entire process automatically.

But if it doesn’t, simply head to your network provider’s website to learn more about updating your router’s firmware.
