Watch stomach-churning video of ride ‘scarier than any rollercoaster’ – so terrifying people refuse to go on it

A STOMACH-CHURNING video of a man taking on a ride, described online as the “craziest ride ever” has been shared online.

For some people, even watching the footage was enough to make them feel uneasy, while others were adamant they’d love to give it a go.

Splash NewsThe bungee swing is from the bottom of the Aizhai suspension bridge in China[/caption]

The man is seated in a flimsy-looking fabric seat while he is gradually lowered from a platform from a red metal structure.

The structure in question is the Aizhai suspension bridge, which connects Chongqing to Changsha in southwest China.

It is the longest valley suspension bridge in the world and the thirteenth highest bridge in the world, stretching 1,102ft above the ground.

While the views from the top over the Dehang canyon are spectacular, for some they’re not enough, with people willing to pay fees reportedly of around £150 to throw themselves off it.

The man in the video is taking a seated option and, after he is gingerly lowered beneath the platform, a rope is released, sending him tumbling at first into the valley below, before he safely swings back up away from the ground.

The footage, shared by Tiktok account Whistle (@whistle) with the caption “this is the CRAZIEST ride ever” has been seen more than a million times, with some people even struggling to finish watching it.

One wrote: “I’m so scared of heights I got dizzy looking at my phone screen.”

Others just flat out refused to even entertain the idea of having a go on the ride.

One said: “No way, never. Those cables looked questionable.”

Another added: “Not in a million years.”

However, others were a little more enthusiastic about the ride and wanted to give it a go.

One said: “I’m next!”

Another wrote: “I’d love to try this. On the bucket list it goes!”

A third added: “Where is this, it looks amazing.”

The video also appeared on Instagram, where it was shared by account dislekdergi where another person commented: “This is scarier than any coaster”.

Elsewhere, Xie Donpo shared footage of the bridge on Tiktok, but with people bungee jumping from it instead of swinging.

They claimed the price of a jump was 1400 RMB, or around £155.

For the more risk averse, pedestrians can walk across the bridge, which is lit up at night with almost 2,000 lights, using a special walkway.

In 2012, the landmark was the site of an international BASE jumping festival that included more than 40 jumpers from 13 countries throwing themselves off it with parachutes.

Despite it looking absolutely terrifying, it’s not the tallest swing in China, with the world’s largest swing opening in the Longgang national park in 2020.

Thrill-seekers are pulled back in their seats which are then released over a 2,300ft high cliff face, at speeds exceeding 80mph.

Meanwhile, the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the UK is set to open sometime next year.

And this video shows what it’s like to ride the world’s steepest rollercoaster.
