Watch shocking moment driver smashes into stationary Lamborghini at high speed on motorway

THIS is the shocking moment a car smashes into a Lamborghini parked on the motorway – sending it flying.

The Lambo driver was lucky to escape with his life – leaving just moments before the supercar was blown to pieces upon impact.

The video begins with the driver of the flashy car standing by his vehicle after an apparent break down in the fast lane of a Chinese motorway.

The man then tries to wave the oncoming traffic away from his car before he realises the danger he is in.

He dashes across the road to safety just seconds before a SUV comes hurtling down and strikes the Lambo.

Pieces of the swanky vehicle shatter into the air as it hits, and both cars spin out of control and out of the camera shot.

When the video ends all that can be seen is debris littering the road as an oncoming vehicle slows down to avoid the mess.

The horrifying video footage emerged on Chinese social media platform Weibo and has the internet in a spin.

One concerned viewer commented: “You’re not safe anywhere on any Highway.

“I was driving a Land Rover on 4 lane wide highway in Austria and some girl learning to drive with her Dad pulled straight off the shoulder across 2 lanes into the side of me.”

And another furiously ranted: “Scary. Drivers like that of the SUV should be prosecuted as if they plowed into a crowd of people–because next time they may be doing exactly that.

“If you cannot see an immobile car directly ahead of you on a straight road, what are the chances you can avoid a moving one in an emergency situation.

“This is gross negligence. Driving is a privilege, not a right.”

According to Carscoops, the offending vehicle is a Geely Xingyue L (Monjaro) SUV and is a similar size to a Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.

Geely’s website says the SUV features a comprehensive safety suite including autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.

It’s unclear why the AEB didn’t activate, or why the driver didn’t notice the stopped Lamborghini.

It is currently unknown how the driver of the SUV fared after the accident.
