Postecoglou, who has signed a five-year contract, won five trophies in two seasons in Scotland, having joined Celtic from Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos.

Before that spell in the Far East, the 57-year-old was in charge of the Australian national team for four years until 2017.

And it was during that period that footage emerged from Paramount Australia full length feature documentary that aired last year looking back at his time as manager that fans got a glimpse of Postecoglou’s fiery temper.

Having witnessed his team concede softly from a set-piece, he vented his anger in front of a whiteboard as his team sat there looking petrified.

Postecoglou blasted: “We’ve got to be better than this, we must be better, that’s just careless.

“And not only that, there’s one, two, three… we cannot f***ing concede there.”

Then, while punching the screen in frustration, he added: “There’s f***ing got to be a reaction there.

“Someone! F***’s sake!”

Postecoglou is expected to be joined at Spurs by his Celtic No2 John Kennedy and first-team coach Gavin Strachan.

In joining Spurs, Postecoglou becomes the first Australian to manage in the Premier League.

Postecoglou managed his final game as Celtic boss last Saturday, fittingly winning the Scottish Cup by beating Inverness 3-1 at Hampden.

Tottenham had been without a permanent manager since March after dismissing Antonio Conte following his explosive rant.

They initially appointed Cristian Stellini as acting head coach, before sacking him just four games later following the 6-1 defeat at Newcastle.

Ryan Mason finished the season as Tottenham’s caretaker boss but he was powerless to prevent them from not qualifying for European football next term for the first time in 14 years.
