Marcus Rashford played the ball back to Martinez, who had limited passing options and two Bayern players closing him down.
But the Argentine, 25, kept his composure and feigned to pass out wide before chopping back into the middle.
He overran the touch slightly and Bayern goalscorer Mathys Tel tried to nick the ball away, but Martinez was too quick.
He sidestepped the forward before producing a wonderful 360 spin to glide past Eric Choupo-Moting, leaving three markers in his wake.
Fans were in awe of the skill Martinez displayed with some suggesting he should be playing in midfield.
One said: “Start training him for midfield position and let Lindelof and Varane defend.”
Another added: “Licha is class man. The guy can do whatever his manager demands we just need Varane back asap…”
A third wrote: “He needs to start playing as a defensive midfielder.”
