Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usmwn will renew their rivalry at UFC 286GETTY

But there was the small matter of making the series decider official by hitting the welterweight championship limit at this morning’s early weigh-ins.

Defending champion Edwards tipped the scales at 170lbs less than an hour into the official weigh-in window.

Former pound-for-pound king Usman, meanwhile, weighed in at 170lbs on the nose after kicking off proceedings.

Prior to Edwards’ weigh-in, MMA fans were shocked when former interim welterweight champ Colby Covington tipped the scales as the back-up fighter.

Brummie bruiser Edwards became king of the UFC’s welterweight jungle last August with a stunning knockout of The Nigerian Nightmare.

Rocky dethroned the seemingly-unbeatable Usman with a Hail Mary head kick in the fifth round to become only Britain’s second UFC champion.

And he’s adamant the belt won’t be leaving British soil in his weekend.

Usman, however, plans to make Edwards’ reign a short one and become a two-time champion in style.

The pair had a heated back and forth during Thursday’s press conference.

“What’s the excuse for the first fight?” Usman asked Edwards.

“What’s the excuse for the f**king head kick you got? The f**k?” He answered.

Usman replied: “I dropped my hands. There’s no excuse.

“Beautiful technique, my hand came down and you landed it. What was your excuse for the three rounds before it getting your head beat in?

“Your coach had to beg you! ‘Come on Rock! You’re getting bullied, son!

“You let him bully you in the first fight and you’re letting him bully you again!

“Don’t let him bully you son! Get your head out of your ass, Rock, he’s bullying you son!’”

Edwards answered: “You held me against the cage!. I left unscathed, not one f**king mark on my face.

“All landed on the gloves, you behave yourself. Behave yourself… That boy is concussed, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
