The poster is then able to enter the supermarket slip road using the self-described “slingshot” manoeuvre- jumping in front of the waiting queue in the left lane.
The driver @jobbertok, from Newcastle, uploaded the video to TikTok and explained: “Saturday afternoon slingshot, you can’t beat the slingshot on the weekend.
“The near-constant traffic from the fourth entrance to the roundabout is making sure the congestion just builds.
“So a little bit of a slingshot is just going to be the nice little treat that everybody deserves.
“Coming around, causing a break in the near-constant traffic, doing a little slow down so I can let another car out and then off to go to our destination.”
The video has gone viral on social media with more than 5,000 views and 142 comments.
But commenters have been left divided after watching the video on social media.
One said: “Breaking the Highway Code by not getting in the lane of his intended exit. Potentially dangerous driver – what other rules does he break?”
Another said: “It’s just jumping the queue. Everyone knows.”
A third pointed out: “My joy in life is when I’m there, and someone tries this move, I simply pull out in front of them and give a Geordie wave.”
This comes after a man used a “roundabout slingshot” trick to avoid morning traffic.
Plus, a video of a car driver losing control on a wet roundabout went viral on social media.
