The snack maker took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to apologise to a fan who shared an unusual pack of Quavers.
User Jonathon Furniss posted a picture of his order of ‘Grab Bags’ Cheese Quavers.
But the popular snack package came discoloured.
The retro bag is known to Walkers’ fans for its characteristic yellow colour and the Quavers variety title in light green.
But in the picture, the colour appears to be faded and it looks completely white and blue.
The shocked customer blasted: “I think you’ve run out of colour.”
In response, the crisps manufacturer apologised and confessed the discoloration was part of a factory printing error.
Despite the mistake, they reassured the customer and claimed the crisps are safe to eat.
A spokesperson said: “Oops, seems so! Don’t worry, this is just a printing error and your Quavers are perfectly safe to enjoy.”
The mishap comes days after fans were left devastated after the company axed a popular crisp flavour from shelves “with no notice”.
Walkers confirmed the salt and vinegar variety is no longer being manufactured.
The retro flavour first joined Walkers’ lineup back in 1993 and returned to shelves in 2021 along with prawn cocktail Quavers after demands from crisp lovers.
But fans can still snap up multi-packs containing six 16g bags for £1.95 from Tesco‘s website.
Walkers also discontinued its Worcester sauce flavour crisps and announced it is “no longer part of their range” leaving shoppers miffed.
Plus the beef and onion flavour was discontinued last year.
The crisp brand also revealed that it’s made a major change to the recipe of its Thai Sweet Chilli Sensations – and fans are not happy about it.
It comes after Walkers confirmed it had changed the recipe of a hugely popular crisp flavour – sparking outrage among fans.
One fan raged that they had “already created perfection in crisp form”, and slammed the new recipe.
Crisp connoisseurs noticed the flavour doesn’t taste quite the same as it used to, and one put their queries to the company.
