He was left being sick on the pitch after a heavy challenge from former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor.
The 31-year-old was left hobbling by the tackle and has now spoken about it.
Louis told FFT: “I was playing in a charity match at Celtic Park.
“I got the ball and turned to my right, then Gabby Agbonlahor came through the back of me and I tore my medial ligament.
“A combination of the impact and me being very unfit meant I ended up throwing up all over Celtic’s stadium, which I know will please a lot of Rangers supporters.”
The game was taking place in order to raise money for the former Celtic and Aston Villa midfielder.
Petrov had to retire from football in 2013 after being diagnosed with leukaemia.
Agbonlahor was subsequently targeted by One Direction fans on social media, which has caused him to be very apologetic to Louis.

Agbonlahor said after the game: “It was one of those things.
“I’ll apologise to Louis when we meet up.
“I know he enjoyed playing in the game and it’s fantastic that he took time out to be here.”
Louis was playing for the Celtic XI, and Agbonlahor was on the side of the Stiliyan Petrov XI.
The former England striker finished on the winning side as the game ended 5-3 in front of 60,000 spectators.
