UFC superstar Conor McGregor celebrates major milestone in his life as only he can

THURSDAY marked the 10th anniversary of one Conor McGregor joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

And that date was never going to be lost on The Notorious as he celebrated with a quintessentially McGregor Instagram post.

Sharing a collage of himself through the years, he wrote: “Ten years in the @ufc!”

The graphic also incorporated the number 10 into his Notorious moniker.

As for what the future holds for the 34-year-old?

Well, he is booked to fight Michael Chandler in his latest comeback bout.

However, while confirmation of that bout first came in early February, an exact fight date has not followed.

This is despite the pair starring in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter where they coached rival rosters of unknown fighters against one another.

It’s highly unusual for it to be left this late in the day for a match-up carrying the extra exposure provided by TUF spotlight to be given a date.

All fans have to go on so far are hints from UFC chief Dana White that whenever the contest does go ahead, it will be full of fireworks.

FIGHTING TALK

The 53-year-old has alluded to a downward spiral in relations between the two over the course of filming the MMA reality TV show.

Last month, he said: “Chandler and Conor were very respectful to each other.

“And then some things started escalating that you will see on the show and they do not like each other now.

“I don’t look at stuff that’s good for the show or things like that.

“Whatever happens, happens. The stuff that just happened shouldn’t happen.

“I’m getting old boys, I’m getting old.

“I would have been in there sooner back in the old days, but yeah, not good.

“A lot of s*** went down on Friday.”

It will likely be over two years since he stepped foot in the octagon when he makes his return as his last contest occurred in July 2021.

That of course ended in brutal fashion for him as he broke his leg while falling to a successive defeat to nemesis Dustin Poirier.
