And their eagerly-anticipated Florida fisticuffs didn’t disappoint.
Both women had their moments in the first round, but it was Barber who drew first blood with a big left hand.
And the sight of a bleeding Ribas prompted the 25-year-old to go for the finish – which she got in the second round – although she found herself bloodied by some fast punches.
Both women were bleeding profusely come the midway point of round two, but it was Barber who turned it up and rocked Ribas with a glancing head kick.
‘The Future‘ closed the show with a nasty left hook that forced Ribas to shoot for a takedown, which was expertly stuffed.
And Barber rained down hellacious ground strikes that forced referee Keith Peterson to call a hat to proceedings.
A bloodied Barber let out a primal roar after claiming victory in the fight, which was lauded by MMA fans on social media.
One tweeted: “Maycee Barber and Amanda Ribas what a war.”
