Gastelum, 31, suffered the freak injury in the gym while training for his clash with Imavov.
Captioning it “Graphic imaging”, the middleweight posted a video of a doctor “sewing his teeth back on”.
He received plenty of well wishes from his Twitter followers, including fellow UFC fighter Michael Chiesa, who wrote: “Sheeeesh heal up bro.”
A fan wrote: “Holy s***.”
And a second tweeted: “OUCH!!! Rest up Kelvin!”
While another added: “Damn bro wtf why u sparring so hard.”
Prior to posting the video, Gastelum apologised to his opponent for pulling out at such short notice.
He wrote: “I’m extremely disappointed to say the least.

“This not how I wanted to start 2023. I worked my a** off & battled through a lot of adversary and was ready to put on a hell of a show this weekend.
“I apologize to Imavov, his camp as well as @ufc and all the fans.”
Gastelum has now been replaced at short notice by seventh-ranked middleweight contender Sean Strickland.
The American was in action just three weeks ago, when he lost to Jared Cannonier on December 17.
Strickland, 31, had been on a six-fight win streak – prior to a skid last year.
Before his defeat to Cannonier, he also lost to Alex Pereira – ahead of the Brazilian finishing 2022 as middleweight champion after beating Israel Adesanya.
