UFC legend Khabib snubs hated rival Conor McGregor as he names his MMA GOAT top 15

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV has risked the wrath of Conor McGregor by snubbing him from his greatest of all time list.

The GOAT debate is a constant one in mixed martial arts, with fans and fighters alike seemingly revising their lists at least once a year.

Retired lightweight Nurmagomedov has often found himself in the conversation, despite calling it quits while at the peak of his powers.

The Dagestani destroyer has seldom shared his thoughts on the debate, although he did so in a rare tweet on Wednesday night.

He tweeted: “My MMA GOAT top 15.

“1 – Fedor Emelianenko / Jon Jones. 2 – Georges St-Pierre. 3 – Anderson Silva. 3 – Demetrious Johnson

“5 – Daniel Cormier. 6 – Henry Cejudo. 7 – Jose Aldo. 8 – Kamaru Usman – 9 – Israel Adesanya.

“10 – BJ Penn 11 – Royce Gracie. 12) Randy Couture/Cain Velasquez. 13. Dan Henderson/ Maurico Shogun Rua

“14 – Mirko CroCop / Stipe Miocic.15 – Dominick Cruz / Frankie Edgar.”

Most mixed martial arts fans didn’t have any glaring issues with Nurmagomedov’s list, although they couldn’t help but notice his omission of bitter rival Conor McGregor.

One UFC fan tweeted: “Conor?”

Another said: “U forgot someone.”

And another said: “Seems like you left someone off.”

One asked: “What about Conor McGregor?”

Another chimed in: “It’s a good list, but by excluding Conor it means you never defeated any all-time great fighters.”

Nurmagomedov and McGregor, both 34, locked horns with one another nearly five years ago in the main event of UFC 229 – the biggest pay-per-view event in the history of the promotion.

Dagestani destroyer Nurmagomedov won the grudge match via fourth-round submission before jumping the cage to attack McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis.

And The Eagle was disappointed McGregor gave up so easily after nearly two years of heated trash talk.

During an appearance on The Nelk Boys’ Full Send Podcast, Nurmagomedov said: “First of all, I was preparing for war.

“I come inside the cage, I fight with this guy, and he tapped. I’m like, ‘Why [did] I come here? Why [did] I train so hard for this?

“You’re going to tap easily like this?’ I just take his chin, you know, and he tapped.

“This one make me upset, too, you know, because I accept more than what I find inside the cage.”
