Miller made history in the clash by becoming the first fighter to compete at UFC 100, 200 and 300.
But he took an absolute pasting.
The fan favourite won the first round with two knockdowns and a late flurry.
But Green took over in the second with his punches from the hip, which opened up a horror gash under the right eye of Miller.
His corner did a good job of stemming the flow of the blood between the second and third rounds.
But Green’s pin-point accuracy in the final stanza – in which he landed a crushing knockdown – re-opened the gaping wound.
MMA fans were blown away by Miller’s ability to take punishment and begged UFC boss Dana White to give him a bonus.
It comes after White raised the reward from his usual $50,000 sum to $300,000 in honour of the historic pay-per-view card.
