MMA fan favourite Chael Sonnen has seemingly slammed the prospect of Georges St-Pierre facing Nick Diaz at UFC 300.
The UFC’s 300th pay-per-view card – which will take place in April – is set to be officially announced in the coming weeks.

A host of names have been linked with fights on the historic card, which SunSport understands will take place in Las Vegas.
Just this week, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub claimed St-Pierre was set to come out of retirement to rematch Diaz on the blockbuster card.
And although the fight would draw the eyes of hardcore fans, Sonnen admits there would be an element of “silliness” in booking it.
The former UFC middle and light-heavyweight title challenger said on his YouTube channel: “You got to 300 a certain way.
“Did you do that by bringing guys in on a one-off? I mean the St-Pierre versus Diaz, does that draw? Sure.
“Why didn’t it happen at 199 or 201? Or 299 or 301?
“Why wouldn’t it happen there, if that is what got us to 300, why would we not continue to follow the principles and policies that got us here?
“I mean, I’m just asking because I’m hearing from some pretty good people, from some pretty meaningful people, a level of silliness within these fights.”

GettyRonda Rousey has been tipped to make a shock comeback at UFC 300 along with Brock Lesnar[/caption]
St-Pierre and Diaz, 42 and 40 respectively, locked horns with one another at UFC 158 back in November 2013.
GSP retained his welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over the former Strikeforce 170lbs king.
St-Pierre and Diaz aren’t the only MMA icons to have been linked with shock UFC 300 returns to the octagon.
Former women’s bantamweight and heavyweight champions Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar have been tipped to be in action in the Sin City extravaganza.
Although the prospect of either legend returning have repeatedly been shut down by UFC bigwig Dana White.
The promotion’s newly-minted CEO told Sports Illustrated: “I get why everybody asks.
“I love that everybody loves them like that, and with so much passion. I do, too.
“But they’re definitely not coming back for UFC 300.”
WWE icon Lesnar headlined UFC 100 and made a shock return at UFC 200 seven years ago.
But White is adamant the 46-year-old’s fighting days are a thing of the past, saying: “I think Brock’s done.
“I don’t think he ever comes back.”
