And has now claimed he has sent 33-year-old AJ an offer for the overdue fight that fell through most recently when targeted for December 3.

AJ promoter Eddie Hearn has the O2 booked for August 12 and is working on a December clash with Deontay Wilder in Saudi and – while he has spoken to Fury matchmaker George Warren – Fury has not made a firm offer.

Hearn said: “I don’t want to ruffle anyone’s feathers but I don’t want someone making Anthony Joshua look bad for no reason.

Earlier this week, Fury wrote on Instagram: “A few days ago I sent a draft contract to Anthony Joshua for a fight in September at Wembley Stadium.

“It’s a fight that everyone wants to see, including myself.

“Come on AJ, let’s give the world what they want to see.

‘This time I’m not gonna make a million vids & keep putting pressure on.

“The ball is now on your side.”

US promoter Bob Arum admitted this week, while in Belfast to promote another show, that the giant showman was impossible to guide or control.

In addition to his mooted December 2022 bout with AJ, Fury has also seen a battle with Oleksandr Usyk fall through.

The heavyweight pair had been tipped to fight on April 29, only for talks to break down.
