Twinings AXE tea bags loved by Brits on cosy Christmas nights leaving shoppers ‘desperate to find more’

TWININGS fans have been left devastated as the tea giant confirmed a beloved flavour won’t be seen on shelves ever again.

The beverage maker apologised to a Twinings lover who said he could not buy his favourite Seasons Greetings Christmas tea this holiday season.

The chap tweeted: “Sad that we haven’t been able to buy any of this this year.

“Trying other brands but they’re not the same.

“What have you done with this?”

Another fan wrote: “Twinings seasons greetings Christmas tea is my favorite and I am desperate to find more.”

The team at Twinings later replied: “We’re afraid our Seasons Greetings Christmas Tea is no longer available as sadly, this was discontinued due to a lack of demand.

“We’re really sorry & will pass your interest on to our Product Development team.”

The Christmas-themed tea flavour chop comes after mince pie lovers went wild when M&S launched a twist to the original recipe.

But some critics did not welcome the change.

Shoppers said they need to get their hands on the new chocolate and hazelnut mince pies at Marks & Spencer.

The news was shared on a Facebook page specialised in announcing the UK’s latest food products.

The packaging described it as an “all butter pastry, filled with out Collection mincemeat, topped with an indulgent chocolate and hazelnut truffle layer, finished with caramelised hazelnuts.”

The picture got more than 1,000 likes but has left social media users divided.

Among the hundreds of comments, one person wrote: “I need these.”

Another said: “Get rid of the mincemeat and these would be delicious.”

A third replied: “I am trying these definitely.”

Meanwhile, original mince pie fans did not welcome the recipe twist that much, with one writing: “Why destroy a good mince pie?”

Another added: “Don’t mess with an original mince pie.”
