Just four days after Christmas, the mum-of-one fell asleep around 6pm – but sadly never woke up.

Her daughter Madison, 17, went to check on her just an hour later and found her unresponsive.

The panicked family called 999 and paramedics rushed to the Greater Manchester home.

However, the care home unit manager could not be saved and it was later found out she died of a pulmonary embolism.

According to the NHS, a pulmonary embolism occurs when there is a blocked blood vessel in your lung.

It can be fatal if it is not treated quick enough.

Kelly’s husband Jerry spoke of his devastation as he promised to “look after our baby girl”.

He told Manchester Evening News: “My beautiful wife died and to say I’m heartbroken is an understatement.

“22 wonderful years we had together.

“I never stopped loving you and I will always love you.

“I promise I’ll look after our baby girl.”

Madison described her mum as her “best friend” and said she wants to give her the best send off.

She said: “My mum was my best friend and we did everything together no matter what.

“She did everything for me and bought me everything I ever wanted.”

Kelly’s sister Jade has since set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for the funeral.

She said: “I am starting this GoFundMe page to give my sister the best send off she deserves.

“She was the most loving, most beautiful, caring person [and] always looked out for everyone else.”
