A WOMAN was left stunned after ordering a sandwich while on holiday in Italy – only to receive the tiniest portion.

Emily McDonald, from Canada, was on holiday in Naples when it happened.

A woman was stunned by her tiny sandwich while on holiday in Italy

She posted a video on her TikTok account after she paid €7 for her sandwich.

She told her thousands of followers: “Wanna see what I got for f****** €7 in Naples.

“It was supposed to be a mini panini or something stupid like that.”

She said it was meant to be full of cheese, green olives and carrots.

However, she then opened the takeaway box – and revealed the tiny, bite-size panini smaller than her palm.

She continued: “You can’t make this s*** up.

“I know I can eat this in one bite. Highway robbery – Napoli, do better.”

Hundreds of people replied in her comments, with many just as shocked.

The sandwich was compared to the size of a macaroon

She said there wasn’t even any cheese in it

One said: “I’m dead, especially cause how inexpensive food generally is in Naples.”

Another added: “Naples is sooo cheap, you get large pizzas in top restaurants for €7, looks like someone took advantage here, tourist tax.”

A third joked: “It’s so funny cause I heard about people getting robbed in Naples but I didn’t think it was like this.”

Lots of people said it looked like a macaroon due to its tiny size, while many said it was “hilarious” how small it was.

Emily posted a follow-up video of her returning to the restaurant, to which they gave her a full-size sandwich.

Back in 2019, a family were left fuming after being charged £100 for hot dogs and soft drinks at a restaurant while in Rome.

Another group were given a free holiday after they paid nearly £1,000 for a basic meal in Venice.
