TOTTENHAM are edging closer to signing James Maddison from Leicester.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Lilywhites have agreed personal terms with the midfielder.

However, they are yet to match Leicesters £60million asking price.

The Telegraph claim that Tottenham are only willing to pay £40m plus potential add-ons for the England international.

Both parties are said to be gradually heading towards a compromise.

Newcastle have also expressed an interest, but Spurs are currently clear frontrunners in the transfer race.

Maddison is one of several Leicester stars expected to leave the King Power Stadium this summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

Harvey Barnes has been linked with a move to Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal.

And Besiktas have expressed an interest in signing Kelechi Iheanacho.
