Tote punter wins over £76k from £2 on Scoop 6 with chance to win £113k bonus at Newmarket this weekend

ONE genius punter stands on the brink of a sensational Tote win this weekend when they go in search of the Scoop 6 bonus.

The bettor has already bagged an incredible £76,400 by selecting the winner of six races last weekend — all from a measly £2 stake.

That’s put them on the verge of a life-changing win as they get a free go at the Scoop 6 bonus at Newmarket on 2000 Guineas day.

Should they correctly pick the winner of the 2.50 on Saturday, they stand to win an extra £113,811.

Unfortunately for the punter, it looks set to be a large field handicap at Newmarket, with the current prices showing a 6/1 favourite.

Saturday is also the start of Tote’s World Pool involvement in UK racing – the first of eight fixtures on these shores in Q2.

The £2 punt was placed in a Scottish William Hill shop on last Saturday’s action.

The first four races came from Sandown Park on the final jumps fixture of the season, where Under Control (7/1) beat stablemate Iberico Lord to get the bet off to a flyer.

It was then Scottish Grand National hero Kitty’s Light’s turn in race three of the Sandown card, winning the Bet365 Gold Cup at 11/4.

Another favourite followed with Hewick in the following race, before Scoop 6 race four favourite Harper’s Brook was beat, with this clever punter avoiding that one and opting for winner Gloire D’athon.

In total, 15 Scoop 6 tickets made it to the final race after Rainbow Fire won the 3.45 at Haydock at 5/1 odds.

But only one was victorious with Brideswell Lad winning a big handicap at Punchestown at 12/1 to land the £76k payout.
