Thorpe Park has announced new prices for visitors in 2024, including a rise in parking costs and entrance fees.

Firstly, visitors will no longer be offered a discounted rate for booking parking in advance.

Instead, it will cost a flat £10 fee for anyone arriving by car.

Last year, guests were given the option of paying £8 online before arriving at the park, or £9 for a contactless payment at the exit barriers.

However, when the theme park reopens in March, the new fees will be in place for almost everyone.

Free parking is available to Thorpe Park Gold Annual Pass holders, Merlin Gold Annual Pass holders, Merlin Platinum Annual Pass holders and Thorpe Shark Cabins guests.

Meanwhile, it will cost more to get into the park as well.

A new on-the-day fee of £66 will be charged to anyone looking to pay on the door.

That’s an increase of £2, or 3.1 per cent, according to Ride Rater.

Fortunately, guests can still make the most of advanced booking discounts for park entry, with tickets available from £34 when bought online before arrival.

All tickets include access to all of Thorpe Park’s rides, as well as any seasonal events that might be taking place.

The theme park’s website advises: “It’s best to pre-book your day tickets online and get discounted entry to some of the UK’s most thrilling rides and attractions.”

Free tickets for anyone under 1.2m tall can also be booked along with any online ticket purchase.

Thorpe Park is set to reopen on Sunday, March 24 when guests will have their first chance to ride Hyperia – the UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster.

The new ride will reach heights of 236ft and will hit speeds of more than 80mph.

The new ride will be Thorpe Park’s first major addition since The Swarm in 2012.

It will feature some of the highest inversions in Europe, and will also have a “splash down” element towards the end, for which the coaster will splash into a lake that will be surrounding the ride.

A brand new American-themed land will also be opening for the first time at the theme park.

The new Big Easy Boulevard will replace the Angry Birds land that had been there for ten years.

Meanwhile, these five new rollercoasters and rides are opening this year.

And this little-known European theme park is opening two new rides and an indoor attraction.
