BRITAIN’S top ten busiest areas for traffic have been revealed – and five are in the same city.
Researchers looked at traffic levels across England, Wales and Scotland in 2022 compared to previous years.

They divided the number of vehicles by the length of roads to reveal the highest daily traffic flows.
Hounslow in West London came out on top with an average 8,835 vehicles passing through any of its roads every day.
Second was neighbouring Hillingdon at 8,670 while Thurrock in Essex, registered 7,966 vehicles a day.
Enfield, Tower Hamlets and Kingston upon Thames also feature – logging 7,611, 7,609 and 7,574 vehicles respectively.
The lowest local authority traffic flows were seen in the Shetland Islands (585) and Eilean Siar, which is on Lewis and Harris (469).
The Isles of Scilly recorded just 173 vehicles a day.
The Greater Manchester towns of Salford (7,530), Bury (7,348), Rochdale (6,017) and Bolton (5,592), all came in the top 50 busiest areas.
Injury claims experts Claims.co.uk studied data on traffic flows through local authority areas to work out who came top.
A spokesman said: “It is interesting to see which local authorities have the highest annual average daily flow as this indicates how much traffic they receive across the whole year, rather than just the busier periods on the roads.”
