Tom Cruise has been spotted partying it up with Sir Michael Caine for his 90th birthday, days after mysteriously skipping the Oscars.
Thanks to some lovely photos shared by British comedian David Walliams, the Top Gun star’s whereabouts have finally been pinned down.
Caine appears to have thrown a small and private soirée for his milestone birthday at London’s River Cafe, with stars including Cruise, Walliams and Loose Women star Denise Welch in attendance.

Walliams, who is perhaps best known for his role in UK comedy series Little Britain, captioned the images, “Happy 90th Birthday to the legendary Sir Michael Caine.”
Welch shared a slightly more “real” excerpt from the party, posting a video of her telling a crude joke for the group, which left both Caine and Cruise in stitches.
The actress captioned the video, “Such an honour to be asked by Shakira to say a few words at Sir Michael Caines’ 90th birthday!!! He loves a dirty joke and so does @tomcruise it appears!!!! Great night and amazing company.”

But the news of Cruise’s appearance at the party has pricked the ears of fans, who wondered why the Hollywood star decided to skip out on the Oscars this year – particularly given his hit film Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for six awards, including Best Picture.
On the night, rumours swirled that Cruise had avoided the event in order to dodge his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman. Those rumours were soon quashed by sources close to the actor who claimed his absence was simply due to a scheduling conflict.
Entertainment Tonight reported at the time that Cruise was busy filming Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning, Part II in the UK, and couldn’t make it over to the States.
Cruise also notably skipped the Golden Globes this year. The star has not supported the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which runs the ceremony, for some time now, and famously gave back three of his awards in 2021, following a wide boycott of the ceremony by the industry due to its lack of diversity.
