Three Mobile goes down leaving hundreds of users without access to calls and internet

THREE Mobile has gone down for hundreds of customers this morning, leaving them with no phone service.

Problems started shortly after 10.15am, according to Downdetector which logs outages, with more than 1,281 reports of issues.

Customers have said that they can’t make or take calls or access the internet on social media.

One person on Twitter said: “One of my Three network mobile phones is showing no internet connection.”

Another said: “My phone is saying emergency calls only. Rebooting hasn’t helped.”

“I can’t seem to call anyone on the Three network,” said a third person.

Over 56% of the reports on Downdetector indicate that customers have no signal while over 22% claim they can’t access the internet on their mobiles.

The vast majority of reported problems originate in London, but there are also reports of outages in Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham.

We’ve contacted Three to confirm the outage and asked when it expects the issue to be fixed.

It’s not the first time Three has suffered an outage.

Three Mobile last went down in March leaving 1,500 customers without a signal and an internet connection.

In December 2022, the mobile and broadband provider also went down at various locations across the UK.

Can I get compensation if I have no phone signal?

There is no automatic compensation scheme for mobile networks like there is for broadband and landline firms.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t get any compensation if your signal cuts out.

Previously, Three has given customers up to £20 off their bills following a nine-hour signal failure.

You should keep a note of how long the outage lasts for, and any inconvenience it causes you.

If you have to spend any money due to the outage, make sure you keep evidence of that, too.

To complain, you’ll need to call Three on 333 or follow its formal complaints procedure.
