The France Under-21s boss and ex-England star were joined on the programme by fellow icon Alan Shearer, the Prem’s all-time top scorer.

During the show, host Gabby Logan asked the trio to make their predictions on who would finish in the top four.

Defoe instantly replied: “[Man] City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal.”

That led to Henry looking completely amazed at that answer as he replied stunned: “What?

“What did you say? Tottenham?”

Unfazed, Defoe hit back with: “Why not?”

Henry appeared to be justified in his shock 24 hours later after Spurs were thumped 4-2 by Brighton, leaving them sitting fifth and a point behind champions City in fourth.

Meanwhile, when asked for his own top four predictions, Henry refused to answer and promptly said: “No!”

He was then quizzed about whether the loss to West Ham was just a “blip” and asked whether Arsenal were still real contenders, he replied: “When we are top of the table at Christmas, we usually lose the league so I’m kind of happy about that.”

Shearer then put more pressure on Henry to commit himself and make a top four prediction, but the star remained unmoved.

He said: “I won’t answer. Call me whatever you want. I always give my answer after the festive period.

“Talk to me in and around February. You can’t call [the league] before that. You’ll be guessing. I don’t like to guess.”

Liverpool are top dogs at the halfway stage of the season with 42 points from 19 games, while Arsenal are second with 40 points.

Surprise package Aston Villa are third, a point behind the Gunners, two points ahead of City.
