THE UK’s biggest beer hall is once again gearing up for its annual Oktoberfest celebrations.
This month, Big Penny Social is throwing its doors wide open to celebrate the Bavarian holiday, taking place today.

There will be three ticketed sessions to book, with live entertainment from a Bavarian oompah band and DJs playing late into the night, all accompanied by traditional food and beer steins.
This year, Big Penny Social have promised to take their Oktoberfest celebrations up a notch, by inviting attendees to get into the spirit of the by donning traditional Bavarian Lederhosen and Dirndls.
Staff will also be dressed up for the occasion as they serve the food and drink.
The food on offer is designed to complement the beers and reflect the occasion, with pretzels and bratwurst taking centre stage.
Alongside the grub and booze will be legendary good-time outfit The Lederpop Brass Band, who have performed at some of the UK’s biggest festivals including Glastonbury and Reading.
They have also taken to the stage at huge venues from The Royal Albert Hall to Wembley Stadium.
They will be performing a playlist of both traditional and modern music.
There will also be an appearance from Club de Fromage, who are famous throughout London for their line-up of outrageous characters and classic pop music.
They promise to bring dance-offs, games and “a whole bunch of cheesy fun”.
Big Penny Social can be found in Walthamstow, in north east London.
Sessions will run from 1pm – 5pm and then 6pm – 11pm today.
General admission costs £13 for an early bird ticket, £15 for second release and £17 for final release.
Groups of six can get early bird access for £10pp, £12.50pp second release and £14pp on final release.
VIP tables, including two beers, a bratwurst per person and table service costs £40pp.
It’s not the only place in the UK preparing for Oktoberfest celebrations this year.
The Munich Cricket Club in London is also hosting its own celebrations from September 16 until October 31, with table booking required.
Manchester’s Freight Island has plans of its own for the Bavarian party, running from September 28 until October 1 this year.
Elsewhere, Newcastle’s Times Square, Edinburgh’s West Princes Street Gardens and Cardiff’s VSA Warehouse will all be celebrating too.
