The tiny European island with just one hotel loved by celebs – and you can book to stay there too

A TINY island in Italy has remained off the beaten track for most tourists – unless you’re a celebrity.

While European islands like Rhodes, Sicily, and Lanzarote are popular among Brits, is one that is yet to be flooded with hordes of holidaymakers.

A tiny island in Venice is loved by celebs – and you can stay there too

Isola delle Rose is a private island

The only hotel is JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa

The Italian city of Venice is built on a network of more than 100 islands, including Isola delle Rose – a private island where high-profile celebs are said to holiday.

There’s just one five-star hotel set on the island, the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa.

The hotel was first opened in 2015 by Italian architect Matteo Thun, and has allegedly become a hit with celeb holidaymakers, according to the Metro.

The resort spans a whopping 40 acres and is home to two different types of accommodation.

While the JW Retreats are more secluded, the JW Rooms and Suites are situated inside the main hotel itself.

In addition to the hotel’s 266 rooms, there are plenty of other amenities on site too, including four restaurants and four bars.

The hotel also has three different pools, including an infinity pool and a family pool.

Meanwhile, the onsite spa is home to steam rooms, saunas, facials, and massages.

Other services include a Kids’ Club where younger holidaymakers can enjoy a range of activities like volleyball, Venetian mask-making, swingball, badminton, and football.

There’s also an acclaimed Sapori Cooking Academy, and a cycling path that stretches for more than 1.5km.

And, a complimentary boat service also ferries guests between the island and St Mark’s Square in the heart of Venice.

Despite the identity of most celebrity holidaymakers remaining anonymous, famous faces including TV presenter Giuliana Rancic are said to have stayed.

And the hotel has received rave reviews from other guests.

One person wrote: “I had a lovely relaxing stay on the island, enjoyed the tranquil spa treatments and the high level of service by the friendly staff.”

Another added: “We had a great stay, everything was so beautiful and clean. This was our second time at this property and we will stay again for sure.”

A third person added: “The resort measured above and beyond our expectations. It was a wonderful experience. The memories will last a lifetime.”

But stays at the resort don’t come cheap, with prices starting from €600 (£519.49) per night.

Meanwhile, a city in the UK has been likened to Venice for many years.

While both are home to a network of canals, they also share an important bridge.

Cambridge’s Bride of Sighs, resembling its Venetian namesake, was designed by English architect Henry Hutchinson and constructed in 1831.

Here’s another amazing European island that is great for a budget holiday.
