The secret infinity pool in the UK with stunning views – and people don’t know where it is

A SECRET infinity pool in the UK with breathtaking views is causing a stir online with people trying to work out where it is.

Infinity pools are commonly associated with luxury holiday resorts in places like Bali or the Maldives, but there’s one much closer to home – and it’s free to visit.

Snowdonia in Wales is home to some stunning scenery as it is, but the views can be made even more enjoyable by sampling them from the waters of a shallow pool in the hills.

While it may look like it belongs in a five star hotel abroad, the pool is actually a weir, constructed as part of a green energy project.

Farmer Wynn Mostyn Jones created it, completely unaware of how popular it would later become.

While he says he doesn’t mind people visiting the pool, he has previously warned them about staying safe when doing so.

In an interview with North Wales Live he said: “My biggest worry right now is that groups of young people from the local area will come here and have parties in the middle of the night.

It’s dangerous more than anything and it has got me worried from time to time. I don’t mind people going there, as long as they respect the site and the natural area around it.

“I wasn’t expecting it to be as popular as it is right now.”

The location of the pool isn’t completely clear, with some of its visitors hoping to keep it a secret from others.

However, there are those who have revealed quite a lot about how to find it.

The Walking Northerners revealed that could be found overlooking the Llanberis Pass and provided some clues for anyone hoping to find it.

They said: “The farmer who built the Secret Infinity Pool was a local to Nant Peris, with the pool being located somewhere above the Llanberis Pass.

“Once we had a rough idea of where the pool could be, we were able to browse Google Earth and eventually pinpoint the exact location.”

While the weir may offer spectacular views, anyone looking to go for more than a dip might be disappointed due to being so shallow.

Instead, the Walking Northerners recommend a dive into popular wild swimming spot, Llanberis Lake, which they say is “just down the road”.

They also recommend the waterfalls along Snowdon’s Watkin Path which also offer paddling opportunities.

One person who did find the weir for a dip was Tiktoker David Gillingham (@daveyboygee).

He shared a video of his sightseeing swim, which has since been seen almost 5,000 times.

One person commented: “Wow looks so peaceful and amazing.”

Another wrote: “Where is this exactly I’d love to go.”

Meanwhile, these are 14 places to swim outside in the UK this summer.

And other lidos and outdoor pools can be found across the country, some of which will be quieter than others.
