The real reason Tori Spelling is living in an RV park with five kids

When photos of Tori Spelling staying at a caravan park with five of her kids were published this week, people were confused.

The pics came after months of headlines detailing the 90210 star’s split from husband Dean McDermott, her “financial difficulties”, and a housing crisis following a black mould infestation.

But sources claim that Spelling and the kids haven’t actually moved into a van, explaining that she’s simply trying to give her kids a vacation.

“Tori is trying to have a summer vacation with her kids on a budget that works for her,” a source told Us. “Tori knows she’s going to get attention with her downgraded glamour vacation, but it’s also realistically all she can afford at the moment.”

The actress was photographed staying in a California campground with her kids – Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6 – earlier this month.

Immediately, rumours surfaced that they family were living there following the housing crisis they faced last month.

However, sources were quick to shut this down, saying that she was just “trying to get away” from the LA scene after a high-profile break up.

“She is looking for peace of mind for her and her children,” another source told Us. “She’s doing it on a realistic budget.”

Outlets are right in claiming that Spelling is facing financial difficulty, though, according to Us. The same source revealed that “she isn’t in a good place financially”.

“She hasn’t necessarily been financially conscious with her money over the years, taking the family’s future into consideration, and it’s catching up with her,” they said.

Apparently she and McDermott never really stuck to a set budget and often “spend money like they’ll never run out of it.”

Following the van photos being published, Spelling’s mum, Candy Spelling, was inundated with messages shaming her for not buying a house for her daughter.

The 77-year-old Broadway producer shared a photo to Instagram from the balcony of her $47 million penthouse, which brought on a flood of comment. One person wrote: “Candy call Tori. She’s living in an RV. How could you have endless resources and leave your daughter like this?”

After another called Candy a “spiteful hateful woman,” she ultimately turned off the comment function on her Instagram profile.

Back in May, the star posted an update to her Instagram story, claiming that her home had been infested with black mould. “Our troubles are next-level with our MOLD problem and the house that’s been slowly killing us for 3 years,” Spelling wrote at the time.

Less than a month later, her husband Dean McDermott posted then deleted an announcement that the couple were getting a divorce. Sources said they were not actually splitting, though they have been living noticeably separate.
