And one holidaymaker has revealed the free camping spot she used to pitch her tent on a recent trip to the Isle of Skye.
TikTok user Eleanor Brennan (@eleanorbrenbabes) posted a video all about her recent holiday to Scotland.
A caption over the video read: “You found the best place to wild camp on the Isle of Skye.”
The footage shows a bright pink tent pitched in the heart of a grassy field.
In the background, users could see hills, mountains, and even a lake just mere metres away from the tent.
While wild camping isn’t permitted in England, holidaymakers heading to Scotland are allowed to camp for free if they follow several guidelines like keeping fields clean and tidy.
The free spot causing all the fuss is a grassy field in Torrin near Loch Slapin on the Isle of Skye.
Even though there aren’t many officials guides to wild camping in Scotland, Eleanor isn’t the only person raving about the spot – thanks so social media.
Travel blogger Away with Maja also thought Torrin was one of the best places to stay on the Scottish island.
In a review on TripAdvisor, one person added: “My husband and I did one night of wild camping here.
“We read reviews that said to get to the location around 5pm (we got there for 6).
“We understood why, because of its close proximity to the road it was a very popular location with stunning backdrops.”
Holidaymakers looking to reach the free camping spot will be able to park their car or van next to the roadside near the B8083.
Once the car has been parked, campers only need to find a flat area where they can pitch a tent before enjoying the stunning views.
