One place they can consider visiting from next month is Legoland Waterpark, Gardaland.

The theme park in Italy is modelled on Lego’s famous coloured blocks and characters.

It has now announced that it will reopen its doors to visitors from May 20 this year.

The park said: “built with millions of colourful Lego bricks on an area of 15 thousand square meters inside Gardaland Resort, the water parks are ready to welcome the many young families for a new season of fun.”

The resort will come with new attractions this year too, including Nautilus – an immersive experience based on Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

The ride claims to use “projection mapping and cutting-edge digital technology” to take the audience on “a nautical journey like no other”, according to Interpark.

The new interactive show will be housed at the at Gardaland Theatre.

Beyond the Lego Waterpark, Gardaland’s main theme park has already reopened to the public along with its new main attraction – Jumanji -The Labyrinth, inspired by the blockbuster film series.

The new attraction is also an immersive experience featuring “an exciting story” that makes “the guests the true protagonists, creators of their own personal experience inside the labyrinth.”

Sabrina De Carvalho, CEO of Gardaland, said: “The Jumanji experience offers adventure, imagination, fun, action and play, and perfectly fits in with the cornerstone values of Gardaland Park.

“We are proud to be able to continue this collaboration and offer our guests a new Jumanji-themed experience.”

Elsewhere, Mowgli’s 4D Jungle Adventure at the 4D cinema and the new CoComelon Meet&Greet sessions will complete the new attractions for visitors to Gardaland, along with existing rides.

Gardaland isn’t the only theme park in Europe to get a Jumani-themed attraction this year.

World of Jumanji opens at Chessington World of Adventures on May 15, with three brand new rides and a load of other attractions to entertain visitors.

Merlin’s ride designer John Burton is in charge of the Jumanji project at Chessington revealed exactly what people can look forward to when the land opens.

That includes the park’s first new rollercoaster in 19 years, Mandrill Mayhem, which John said is packed with innovation to thrill riders, including a backwards inversion and multiple launch points.

He told Sun Online Travel: “Unlike your classic rollercoasters, which are the typical sit down, put the lap bar on and go up a lift hill, this one’s really unique because it’s a multi launch rollercoaster.

“That means you don’t just chug up a hill, you are accelerated like in a Formula One racing car along a track. And you do that launch four times. And you don’t just do it forwards. You do it backwards. So it’s super exciting.”

Meanwhile, Sun Online sent someone down to Chessington to explore the new Jumanji land.

And here’s even more information about the thrilling new world.
