The ‘godsend’ travel item that helps you sleep on planes – and it’s just over £10

GETTING to sleep during a flight can be incredibly difficult, with plane seats far from comfortable.

However, there are handy travel items that can make things that little bit easier for passengers looking to sleep off their jet lag en route.

One such item is the Globe Trek Hooded Travel Pillow, which has received rave reviews from travellers online.

The pillow is made of cosy fabric material and filled with supporting polystyrene micro beads, which adjusts to the user’s neck, “effectively relieving neck and shoulder pain” according to Globe Trek.

The hooded design also covers the user’s head, if they want it to, which can make it more comfortable when leaning against uncomfortable headrests, or plane windows.

The hood can even be pulled all the way forward, over the passenger’s eyes, to block out the light in the cabin.

The pillow is also designed with two adjustable drawstrings that can be pulled to create the perfect fit.

It’s great for people who suffer from neck or shoulder pain, as it can help position the passenger’s neck regardless of if they are sleeping or not.

From more than 2,200 reviews on Amazon, the pillow has an overall rating of 4.4/5.

One verified purchaser wrote: “Bought this for my daughter for her first ever flight to go on holiday.

“It was very comfy and the hood came in handy to help relax and block out some light so she could snooze!”

Another described it as a “godsend” for budget flights.

They said: “This is a godsend on budget airlines. The hood helps to block out the interrogation strength lighting and helps you escape from the hubbub around you.”

A third added: “I very rarely sleep on a plane but when I saw this one with a hood I thought I’d give it a try. I travelled to New York and slept comfortably with this.”

The pillow is available in three different colours and costs £10.99 on Amazon.

One person who swears by the pillow is parent Jodie West who showed herself using it in a video on Tiktok.

She said: “I’m going on holiday tomorrow and I wanted a travel pillow.

“I saw this one – it’s got a built-in hood. How cool is that?”

Meanwhile, this is why plane seats are usually so uncomfortable for passengers.

And a traveller revealed a way to make sure you book the best seats whenever you fly.
