One place where families can treat their kids to a new water attraction is at Cofton Holidays in Dawlish, south Devon.

As temperatures continue to soar across the UK this week, the new Forest Run splash pad is open to visitors, providing them the chance to cool off.

The splash pad has been designed with the look and feel of a forested woodland area and features nine woodland run posts, two drencher buckets, a forest splash twin tipper, one water spray shooter canon, and several water sprinklers.

It will be open throughout the summer and until the end of October.

Chris Jeffery, Director at Cofton, said: “It gives us great pleasure to officially launch our new splash attraction, which is already proving very popular with our guests.

“Ideal for the hot weather, Forest Run is a fun and refreshing opportunity for adults and families to keep cool and get wet as the mercury continues to rise.

“Alongside our spa facilities and pools, we’re proud to offer some of the best splash and swimming opportunities in the region.”

The new splash attraction at Cofton Holidays builds on the park’s existing swimming and spa offerings, which includes large indoor and outdoor pools, a steam room, a sauna, and a modern gym.

Cofton also offers daily swimming classes and the option for private swimming lessons from qualified swimming coaches.

There are also other outdoor adventures for those who don’t want to get a soaking, such as cycling, hiking, fishing and the park’s very own high ropes adventure course.

In addition to the swimming facilities at Cofton, the park offers easy access to excellent sandy beaches and wild swimming spots in South Devon.

These include the nearby Dawlish Warren Blue Flag beach, which is backed by sand dunes and small lakes.

Within striking distance from the park is Splashdown Quaywest, the UK’s largest outdoor water park.

There you can find eight flume rides overlooking Goodrington beach.

Meanwhile, this seaside town in Devon has been compared to visiting a Greek island.

And these are some of the most tranquil staycation spots in the country.
